Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has again attacked the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The latest attack from the former Lagos governor on Thursday while campaigning in Osun State comes a week after he alleged that officials of the Buhari regime were out to frustrate him from succeeding the president.
He cited the increasing scarcity of petrol and the recoloured naira notes to buttress his point but Information Minister, Lai Mohammed, debunked the insinuations that agents of the federal government were out to frustrate the political ambition of their party’s flag bearer.
Boasting in Osogbo, the APC candidate claimed to have installed the Nigerian leader who unsuccessfully sought the office thrice and clinched it at the fourth attempt in 2015.
“We are the ones that installed them (Buhari regime),” Mr Tinubu who spoke using local language claimed. “We are the ones that will succeed them. They want to cause us discomfort.”
Mr Tinubu’s wailing have been re-echoed by Governor Nasir El-rufai of Kaduna State who refused to name the saboteur, saying they will be defeated before being publicly named.
Mr Buhari, who said he was not going back on his resolve to conduct a free, fair and credible elections, was visibly absent in some of the APC campaign rallies where he is expected to be present.
