The Nigerian Senate has confirmed Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem as the president of the Court of Appeal.
The upper legislative chamber confirmed the jurist on Thursday based on the request of President Muhammadu Buhari.
She was nominated for the position earlier in the week by Mr Buhari on the recommendation of the National Judicial Council (NJC).
With the confirmation, she succeeds of Zainab Bulkachuwa who formerly occupied the office before retiring.
The jurist, until her new position, was acting president of the Appellate Court.
