Lamido Sanusi was on Thursday reinstated as the Emir of Kano by Governor Abba Yusuf.
His reinstatement comes about four years after former Governor Umar Ganduje deposed the former Central Bank Governor.
“With the full support of the kingmakers, I have approved the reappointment of Malam Sanusi Lamido,” Mr Yusuf announced at the Kano State Government house Thursday evening.
This comes after the state house of assembly repealed the Emir law 2019 and transmitted same to the governor for his assent.
The new legislation signed into law Governor Yusuf also scrapped the additional four emirates created while Mr Ganduje held sway.
