Queen Elizabeth II, United Kingdom’s queen and Head of State, has died at 96.
Buckingham Palace had said that Elizabeth II was under medical supervision as doctors became concerned about her health on Thursday.
The Queen had pulled out of a virtual Privy Council on Wednesday after doctors advised her to rest.
“Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision,” a statement had said on Thursday.
Prince Charles, her eldest son, and William, Duke of Cambridge, had travelled to Balmoral to be with her.
Prince Charles immediately becomes King of the UK. It is yet to be announced when he will take the Royal Oath which will seal his accession to the throne.
