Lawmakers loyal to Governor Similanayi Fubara has made public its intention to screen a commissioner-nominee today at their sitting scheduled to hold at the Rivers State government house.
This is going to be the first function of the factional assembly led by Victor Oko-Jumbo, its speaker.
Dagogo Iboroma, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, will be screened by 10 am today, the clerk of the assembly, G. M. Gillis-West, said in an official communication.
The screening will take place at the Admin Block, Government House, Port Harcourt, the venue gazetted by Governor Fubara, although rights lawyer, Femi Falana, argued that the state helmsman lacks the constitutional powers to decide sitting venue of the state legislature.
