Doyin Okupe, a former presidential aide, has been retained as the director-general of the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council.
Mr Okupe’s retainment was announced on Wednesday by Clement Ojukwu, the Secretary General of the opposition Labour Party (LP).
The former Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to President Goodluck Jonathan leads a 1232-member team with the aim to oust the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) from power next year.
Mr Okupe has been at forefront, leading the campaign team of the former Anambra governor since he defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in May.
He was named a placeholder for the vice presidential position pending when the party announced and replaced him with Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed as the running mate of Mr Obi who has promised to move the country from consumption to that of production if elected president.
