Joe Ajaero, the president of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has been arrested.
Mr Ajaero, according to Channels Television, was arrested in Owerri, Imo State capital, on Wednesday.
The broadcast station said Benson Uper, the Head of Media at the NLC Headquarters, notified it of the development.
The NLC boss, who is reportedly in the state, to solidarise with protesting and striking members of the workforce body over lack of respect for workers, unpaid salaries, amongst others, was whisked away to unknown destination by heavily armed security operatives.
