Eligible Nigerians are electing those they want to pilot the affairs of their respective states for the next four years.
This comes two weeks after they re-elected President Muhammadu Buhari to continue in office for the next four years.
Mr Buhari of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) trounced Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with over 4 million votes to clinch victory.
Out of the 36 states in the country, 6 states will not be participating in the governorship election because their governors are yet to exhaust their tenure.
They include: Ondo, Ekiti, Kogi, Anambra, Osun and Edo States.
The exercise in the remaining 29 states is largely believed to be between the APC and PDP except for Rivers State where the ruling party was excluded from participating legally.
