The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced the confirmation of 490 fresh cases of Coronavirus disease in the country.
Also, data from the disease agency released Tuesday night shows that 274 patients recovered from the deadly virus while 31 deaths occurred in the last 24 hours.
The new figure brings the total number of confirmed cases to 17,148 out of which 5, 623 have been treated and discharged while the death toll increased to 455 in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The 490 new cases are reported from 16 states- Lagos(142), FCT(60), Bayelsa(54), Rivers(39), Delta(37), Oyo(30), Kaduna(26), Imo(23), Enugu(19), Kwara(17), Gombe(11), Ondo(10), Bauchi(8), Ogun(7), Borno(6) and Benue(1).
So far, 96,402 samples have been tested while 11,070 are currently active cases nationwide.
