The Nigerian Presidency says the new Chief of Staff, Agboola Gambari, at the moment does not have any account on social media.
Mr Gambari was officially appointed yesterday as the new CoS to President Muhammadu Buhari. He succeeds late Abba Kyari, who died of Coronavirus disease complications.
Moments later, parody social media accounts particularly on Twitter, bearing the name and photograph of the new appointee surfaced online.
One of the accounts seen by TODAY POLITICS already has over 700 followers on the micro-blogging site hours after it was created.
Presidential aide, Bashir Ahmed, who posted a disclaimer to the effect said whenever the former diplomat chooses to own social media accounts, it will be properly communicated to the public.
“DISCLAIMER: All the twitter accounts bearing Professor Ibrahim Gambari, the Chief of Staff to President @MBuhari are fake, the new CoS doesn’t have an account on twitter or on any social media platform. If he wishes to have one, it will be communicated properly,” Mr Ahmed tweeted early Thursday morning.
