Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan representing Kogi Central senatorial district has taken the oath of office as a federal lawmaker.
Ms Akpoti-Uduaghan, who is elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), becomes the first female Senator from Kogi State.
She was sworn in Thursday morning, a day after receiving her Certificate of Return issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the duly elected senator from the district.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, upheld the election of Akpoti-Uduaghan as the duly elected candidate in the Kogi Central Senatorial Election held earlier in February.
The court dismissed the appeal filed by Abubakar Ohere of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for lacking in merit.
