The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned Willie Obiano, the former governor of Anambra state.
Mr Obiano, arraigned on Wednesday at a federal high court in Abuja, pleaded not guilty to the nine-count charge of money laundering to the tune of N4 billion while in office as the governor of South-eastern state.
Justice Inyang Ekwo, who adopted the administrative bail – which includes providing two sureties who are directors in civil service, own landed properties in Abuja – granted to the former governor by the EFCC, said the defendant must remain within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Justice Ekwo who also ordered him to submit his travelling documents to the court, alerted immigration of the development.
