The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have declared a nationwide strike, beginning next week, from June 3.
TUC President, Festus Osifo, who announced this on Friday alongside some other leadership of the NLC, said the action became necessary over the tripartite committee’s inability to agree on a new minimum wage before the expiration of May.
At the fourth committee meeting earlier in the week, the organised Labour rejected the N60,000 offer of the federal government and demanded N494,000 as new minimum wage.
