Yahaya Bello, the governor of Kogi State, says Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Aviation Minister, now belongs to the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Mr Bello stated this in a video clip circulating on social media Wednesday afternoon posted by The Nation Newspaper.
He had led the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain to visit Mai Buni, Yobe governor and acting chairman of the ruling party on Monday.
“Our brother and friend, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has joined our party in good faith,” the Kogi helmsman said while addressing an audience.
“He is joining our party to come and add his own positive energy and make contributions into ensuring that APC is a party to beat,” he added.
Although the former minister, in a statement after the meeting, confirmed that party politics was discussed he was however silent on defecting to the ruling party.
Last year, TODAY POLITICS recalled he threatened to dumped the PDP if the party structure in Cross River state is hijacked from governor Ben Ayade. We are yet to independently confirm if this is his reason for hobnobbing with the party he earlier berated and described as satanic.
Already some elements in the APC are opposed to his return to the party he joined after it was newly formed, although it appears they can do nothing to prevent him.
