The State Security Service (SSS) has explained why it barred operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from its Lagos operational headquarters.
The self-styled Department of State Services (DSS) had condoned off the property located at Awolowo road in Ikoyi area of the state early Tuesday morning.
Operatives of the anti-graft commission were not allowed access into the facility which had an armoured tank stationed in front of it.
The two agencies are reportedly laying claim to the building.
In a statement by its Spokesman, Peter Afunanya, the SSS said the facility belongs to it and can do whatever it pleases with it.
“It is not correct that the DSS barricaded Efcc from entering its office,” Mr Afunanya explained. “No. It is not true.
“The Service is only occupying its own facility where it is carrying out its official and statutory responsibility,” he claimed.
