The police in Ogun State have arrested one Mojiyagbe Olamilekan for stabbing his wife to dead with a pair of scissors.
Mr Olamilekan had allegedly locked up his wife, Seun Mojiyagbe, in their apartment and the couple began fighting themselves.
Their squabble attracted neighbors who beckoned on the 25-year-old to open the door but the husband refused, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the State Police Public Relations Officer.
“It was the wailing of the wife that attracted the neighbours, who tried all efforts to persuade the suspect to open the door but he refused, the command spokesman explained. “Upon the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Ode Remo Division, CSP Olayemi Fagbohun, quickly mobilised his men and moved to the scene where the door to the couple’s apartment was forced open.
“The victim was met lying down unconscious in the pool of her own blood. She was quickly rushed to the State Hospital in Isara Remo where she was pronounced dead by the doctor on duty.”
The suspect has since been arrested and transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for investigation and prosecution, reports News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
