Lai Mohammed, the mouthpiece of the Buhari administration says the Federal Executive Council (FEC) is still alive and not dissolved as reported in some sections of the media.
Mr Mohammed made the clarification on Wednesday, defusing reports that outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari has dissolved his cabinet.
Speaking to State House Correspondents after the valedictory council meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, the Information and Culture minister described the reports as fake news.
“The news that the Federal Executive Council has been dissolved is not correct,” the minister said. “We’ve been directed by the President that we should all go back and return to our offices. So it is not true that the Federal Executive Council has been dissolved, it is still very much alive.”
