Security agencies have laid siege at Lekki tollgate in Lagos State ahead of tomorrow to ensure the global #EndSARS one year anniversary scheduled to take place at the venue does not hold.
Last year October, Nigerians demanding the scrapping of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) contended with security agencies at the protest scene while demonstrating with the Nigerian flag.
Army personnel swooped on them and opened fire on the protesters. Several of those who participated during the exercise aborted after the attack are still missing and are yet to reunite with their families.
Organisers of the protest have penciled down Wednesday to mark the one year anniversary of the massacre but the police and the state government vowed not to allow the procession.
The organisers have called bluff their warning and have continued mobilising on different social media platforms for the memorial protest which is billed to take place nationwide.
A combine team comprising of the Soldiers, Police and other security agencies were sighted taking positions at the tollgate where dozens were killed last year.
Also, this reporter observed increased presence of security agencies mounting other strategic parts of the state Tuesday evening.
