David Ukpo, the supposed kidney donor to the daughter of Senator Ike Ekweremadu has made a U-turn on his age.
Mr Ukpo was flown to the UK to voluntarily donate one of his kidneys to ailing Sonia Ekweremadu, daughter of the Enugu West lawmaker.
He later alleged he was 15 years old and was unaware of his mission in the UK, an act said to have contravened Modern Slavery Act 2015.
His claims led to the arrest and detention of Mr Ekweremadu and his wife Beatrice, on alleged organ trafficking, which the duo have denied when they were arraigned last month.
Appearing before a Westminster Magistrate court on Thursday, the donor retracted his earlier claims of being a minor, saying he is now 21 years old, the age found on his bio-data with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the court has adjourned sitting to August 4.
