Lawmaker representing Abia Central Senatorial District, Theodore Orji, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Mr Orji, a former governor of Abia State, was picked up by operatives of the anti-graft agency on Thursday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
He and his son, Chinedu, who is the current speaker of the state house of assembly are presently at the headquarters of the EFCC where they are being interrogated.
The duo are alleged to have misappropriated public funds and laundered money to the tune of N551billion when the former governor held sway as Abia helmsman from 2007 to 2015.
He is also alleged to have mismanaged N2billion Ecological Fund and conversion of Sure-P funds, according to Punch Newspapers.
