Ike Ekweremadu, immediate past Deputy Senate President, has been nominated again to stand election for the position as the 9th national assembly move to elect its deputy Senate President.
Mr Ekweremadu who belongs to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) told his colleagues not to elect a mace snatcher for the position.
He was actually referring to Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, who is aspiring for the position under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Mr Omo-Agege was alleged to have led political thugs into the red chamber while plenary was on during the 8th Senate.
The Enugu lawmaker was nominated by senator-elect Chukwuka Utazi, a nomination which he accepted.
Meanwhile, Ahmed Lawan, lawmaker representing Yobe North has emerged President of the 9th Senate.
