Security agencies have been barred from evicting Lamido Sanusi, Emir of Kano emirate, from the palace he is already occupying.
A high court in the state gave the order in a ruling on Tuesday in the suit filed by Mr Sanusi and the factionalised king makers in the emirate – Madakin Kano Yusuf Nabahani; Makaman Kano Ibrahim Sarki Abdullahi; Sarkin Bai Mansur Adnan and Sarkin Dawaki Maituta Bello Tuta.
Justice Amina Aliyu barred agents of the State Security Service (SSS) the Nigerian Army (NA) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) from evicting the controversial Emir deposed four years ago but was reinstated by Governor Abba Yusuf last week.
The motion on notice was adjourned till June 13, 2024, for hearing.
The order is coming a day after the judge ordered the eviction of the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero from the Nassarawa mini palace.
