Ahmad Lawan, the president of the 9th Senate, says President Muhammadu Buhari will present the budget of next year to the National Assembly.
Mr Lawan stated this during plenary in his speech while welcoming lawmakers who returned from their two months recess.
“I am aware that the President will submit the 2021 budget estimates to us next week,” he said.
The top lawmaker also read a letter from the Nigerian leader requesting the approval for the payment of N148.1bn to Ondo, Rivers, Cross-River, Osun, and Bayelsa states.
Buhari, in his letter, said the amount was for the reimbursement of the federal road projects executed in the affected states.
The breakdown of the money showed that Rivers would get N78.9bn, Bayelsa (N38.4bn), Cross River (N18.3bn), Ondo (N7.8bn), and Osun (N4.5bn).
