Lauretta Onochie, social media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari has been nominated by her principal for confirmation as a national commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) representing Delta State.
This is contained in a letter the president wrote to the Nigerian Senate read today at the floor of the red chamber by its president, Ahmad Lawan, during plenary.
Aside Onochie, three others namely: Prof. Mohammed Sani representing Katsina; Prof. Kunle Ajayi (Ekiti) and Seidu Ahmed (Jigawa) were also nominated for confirmation.
Buhari said the nomination was pursuant to Paragraph 14 of part 1F of the First Schedule of the 1999 Constitution.
