Abdulmumin Jibrin, the director-general of the Bola Tinubu presidential campaign organisation has dumped the All Progressive Congress APC).
Mr Jibrin announced the development across his social media accounts Saturday evening, promising to make public his next political party.
The former member of the House of Representatives said he has done his best for the ruling party and it was time to move on.
“I have done my best for APC,” he said. “Its time to move on. I will announce my new political party within the next 24 hours insha Allah. I will make a formal statement in due course. Hon Abdulmumin Jibrin.”
His decision to leave might not be unconnected to the request of some individuals in the APC that its presidential ticket be thrown open.
