Most lawmakers of the Rivers State House of Assembly have defeated from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The lawmakers are loyal to Nyesom Wike, a former governor of the state who is at loggerheads with his successor, Governor Simi Fubara.
Enemi George, a member of the defectors confirmed on Monday that he and 26 of his colleagues defected to the All Progressive Congress (APC), amid the political drama ongoing in the state.
Mr George said the lawmakers under Martin Amaewhule, a factional speaker, made the decision this morning during their sitting.
