Presidential spokesman Garba Shehu says forgery is a greater crime than supporting terrorism.
Mr Shehu who stated this while appearing on Channels Television’s Today Politics programme Friday evening, monitored by TODAY POLITICS, was comparing the forgery scandal that ousted former finance minister Kemi Adeosun and the past radical remarks of Isa Pantami Digital Economy and Communications Minister.
Mrs Adeosun resigned her position when it was established that one of her academic credential was doctored.
Mr Pantami whose controversial remarks supporting terrorists and the violent elimination of non-muslims was recently unearthed by the media has been called on to step down from office.
Rather than fire him, the presidency sided the embattled minister despite public outcry, saying his offence was committed in the past and his proclamation renouncing them was enough.
