A federal high court in Abuja on Friday sacked Yakubu Dogara from the House of Representatives and declared his seat vacant.
Justice D.U Okorowo who gave the verdict said it was inappropriate for the lawmaker representing Bogoro/Dass Federal constituency of Bauchi State
to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The former speaker who held sway as speaker of the green chamber from 2015 to 2019, rejoined the ruling party in 2020 and mentioned a breakdown of governance in his native state of Bauchi as reason for defecting.
