President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly suspended Ibrahim Magu, as the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
This is according to Sahara Reporters, which quoted presidential sources.
The embattled anti-graft czar was arrested yesterday and whisked to the Presidential Villa for questioning bordering on allegations of re-looting assets recovered in the fight against corruption.
He is also being accused of insubordination and misconduct by the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.
Mr Malami also recommended his removal from office.
After he was arrested and detained, the presidential panel probing him ordered he be taken to the force headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) where he is expected to pass the night.
The seven man panel headed by a retired judge of the Court of Appeal ordered he be returned for further interrogation today.
