Arrested Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo, arraigned before a Beninese court in Cotonou over immigration-related issues has been remanded in custody.
Mr Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, declared wanted by the Nigerian government was arrested in Benin Republic on Monday en route Germany.
Mr Igboho, arrested alongside his wife, was arraigned on Thursday with the court ordering that he be remanded in the custody of Brigade Criminelle in Cotonou pending the submission of charges by the Nigerian Government.
The court also adjourned to Monday 26th July to allow the Nigerian government bring up whatever evidence they may have against the seccessionist demanding the breakaway of the South-West geo-political zone from Nigeria.
