Bawa meets Tinubu hours after SSS blockaded EFCC Lagos office

Abdulrasheed Bawa, chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) met with President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday.

The meeting taking place at the State House, Abuja, comes a day after the State Security Service (SSS) blockaded the Lagos State operational headquarters of the anti-graft agency.

The SSS, on Tuesday, laid a siege at the facility located at Awolowo road in Ikoyi area of Lagos, claiming ownership and preventing operatives of the EFCC from accessing the building.

Hours after, Mr Tinubu ordered the secret police to vacate the premises, a directive that was later compiled with.

As at press time, it is yet unclear what informed the meeting between Messrs Tinubu and Bawa as the anti-graft chief is also facing serious inquest regarding his management of the EFCC.
