Abdullahi Adamu, the national chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has resigned as a member of the Nigerian Senate representing Nasarawa West senatorial district.
Also, stepping down is Abubakar Kyari, who represented Borno North senatorial district. Mr Kyari emerged as deputy national chairman (North) of the ruling party.
The duo emerged party leaders at the March 26 national convention of the APC in Abuja and their resignation letters, separately written, were read during plenary on Tuesday by Senate President Ahmad Lawan.
Senator Adamu, until his emergence as the National Chairman of the APC, chaired the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development while Senator Kyari was the Chairman of the Committee on Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
