Another student has been raped and murdered in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, reports said.
Barakat Bello, an 18-year-old girl, was sexually assaulted before being sent to an early grave. The incident is said to have occurred on Monday but the corpse which was found yesterday at Akinyele area of the state capital is said to have been examined with traits of her being raped.
The deceased, said to be a year-one student of the Institute of Agriculture, Research and Training, Ibadan, according to her family members, has been buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
This is coming a week after a similar fate befell Vera Uwaila, a student of University of Benin (UNIBEN) who was said to have gone to a church in Benin to study.
Although, the police have hinted of arresting a suspect said to be involved in the rape and murder of the student, nothing has been heard from the state force headquarters of the police in Ibadan.
