Days after Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State dumped his deputy, Rauf Olaniyan, for another running mate in the 2023 gubernatorial election in the state, the latter has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Mr Makinde last week opted to run with the chairman of the State Housing Corporation, Barrister Bayo Lawal as his running mate for a second term in office.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Mr Olaniyan while announcing his defection to the All Progressive Congress (APC) on Sunday denied resigning his position.
The Oke-Ogun-born technocrat cum politician explained that he took the decision after consultations with his supporters from across the state.
