Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa has been declared winner of the governorship election in the state following the resumption and completion of the results of the supplementary polls.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) which announced him as the winner said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate scored a total of 430,869 votes.
He defeated the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Aishatu Dahiru Binani, who polled 398,788 votes to come second.
The concluded exercise on Tuesday was monitored and attended by Festus Okoye, National Commissioner for Voter Education of the Commission, following the suspension of Hudu Yunusa, the embattled Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) who illegally announced Ms Binani as winner earlier.
