The achievements of the All Progressive Congress (APC) will keep the ruling party in power for the next one hundred years, says Yusuf Gagdi, member, House of Representatives.
Mr Gagdi, representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam constituency stated this Saturday after revalidating his membership of the party in Gum-Gagdi, Kanam local government area (LGA) of Plateau State.
TODAY POLITICS recalls that a former national chairman of now opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had in 2008 declared that his party which held sway at the time will rule the nation for the next sixty years, a claim reiterated by former first lady, Patience Jonathan in 2015 the year her husband, Goodluck Jonathan, sought re-election but lost to incumbent president Muhammadu Buhari.
For Mr Gagdi who arrived at the conclusion based on the membership strength of his party said the achievements of the APC will keep it in power even beyond the next presidential election expected to hold in 2023.
“From the crowd you have seen here today, it is crystal clear that APC, our party, is on ground,” he said while addressing news men.
“Though God decides what happens, but with the achievements of our party at various levels, we will retain power beyond 2023.
“In fact, it is not just about the next general elections, but the party will remain in power for the next hundred years,” he added.
