On Saturday 20th June 2020, Dr Girija N. Pandey passed away after a brief illness.
He was the Manager and Chief Operating Officer at Dr Hassan’s Hospital and Diagnostic Center at Maitama Abuja.
About fortnight ago, Dr. Girija N. Pandey realized some obvious symptoms and went in to voluntary Self isolation at his residence, and maintained a virtual contact for all official activities from home. The resolve to affirm his condition necessitated a referral to the National Hospital, Abuja, where he was tentatively diagnosed with covid-19, and subsequently lapsed in to ICU at the National Hospital, Abuja.
Dr Girija N. Pandey was known for his compassionate and friendly nature. Everyone that knew him remembers him for his reassuring confidence and friendly smile.
He was a born leader and had a wonderful personality that radiated a feeling of happiness to those that met him.
His passion for helping people in the cause of healthcare was legendary. People like Dr Girija N. Pandey are rare to come across and he will be missed by all.
His wife and two children, being his only contacts during this period have since been in mandatory isolation and have also been tested negative.
He has left behind, his wife and 2 daughters as well as a large extended family of colleagues and friends who will always miss him.
