A federal high court sitting in Abuja has dismissed the suit of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) seeking the disqualification of two presidential candidates.
The opposition party had approached the court urging it to order the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to disqualify Bola Tinubu, candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and Peter Obi, flag bearer of the Labour Party (LP) on account of replacing their running mate.
Messrs Tinubu and Obi had nominated Kabiru Masari and Doyin Okupe as placeholders pending the conclusion of search for their running mates which they later replaced with Kashim Shettima and Baba-Ahmed Datti respectively.
Approaching the court, the PDP in a suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1016/2022, sought an order barring them from replacing the placeholders who willingly stepped aside but their application was dismissed on Monday.
