President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly transmitted his ministerial list to the Nigerian Senate.
Mr Buhari is said to have taken the action Monday evening, according to a report on TheCable. This is coming days after he was advised by the upper legislative chamber to do so before lawmakers embark on their two months recess expected to end in September.
The president re-elected for another term of four years has recently been criticized for delaying the list, a similar situation said to have plunged the economy of the country into recession in 2016 during his first term.
In it’s report, the news medium said about 12 former ministers out of 36 previously appointed will be returning as ministers.
The total number of the new cabinet is set to be 42, each from the 36 states and one from the six geo-political zones in the country.
The list is expected to be read at the floor of the Senate on Tuesday. It is unclear if the lawmakers will amend the time frame of their scheduled holiday to screen those nominated.
