Some principal officers of the 10th Nigerian Senate have been named.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio named the officers as emerging through consensus.
Senator Opeyemi Bamidele from Ekiti State was named as Senate Leader; Senator Dave Umahi from Ebonyi State as Deputy Senate Leader.
Senator Ali Ndume from Borno State was announced as Chief Whip, while Senator Lola Ashiru from Kwara State is Deputy Chief Whip.
The names were announced during plenary on Tuesday.
