Zamfara records first Coronavirus infections, total now 1095 cases

Zamfara State has joined the league of states affected by Coronavirus disease, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

The disease agency also announced the confirmation of 114 fresh cases of the deadly virus Friday night.

The new figure brings the total number of infections to 1095 out of which 208 patients have so far been discharged while the death toll increased to 32 with 28 states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), affected.

80 of the new cases were discovered in Lagos, 21 in Gombe, 5 in FCT, Zamfara and Edo have 2 cases each while Ogun, Oyo, Kaduna and Sokoto have one case respectively.

The NCDC also said 5 cases previously recorded in Lagos, and having been transferred, are now penciled down as Ogun state cases.
