Xenophobia: #WeNoGetPresident trends on Twitter as Nigeria recalls Ambassador to South Africa

Following series of attacks on Nigerians and their businesses legally residing in South Africa, Nigerians are trending a hashtag to register their displeasure over the reaction of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.

In response to attack on Nigerians residing in the foreign country, Mr Buhari, is said to have dispatched special envoy to engage authorities of the country on how to find lasting solution to the unabated attacks.

Angered by the action of the president, Nigerians are trending #WeNoGetPresident on Twitter, calling for more disciplinary action against South Africa.

A former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, a known critic of the present administration, called for an end to the diplomatic ties with the foreign country.

“The only way to make the South Africans appreciate that Nigerians cannot be killed like chickens is not by sending an envoy but by breaking off diplomatic relations and nationalising all SouthAfrican companies in Nigeria. If they do not stop after that then we should declare war,” Mr Fani-Kayode tweeted on Wednesday.
