Why Femi Adesina should stop insulting Northern elders – Shehu Sani

Shehu Sani, a former lawmaker, has advised Femi Adesina, presidential spokesman to stop insulting Northern Elders Forum (NEF).

Mr Adesina in his latest attack on critics of his principal, President Muhammadu Buhari, described the NEF and its leadership as paper tigers.

The presidential spokesman gave the description while reacting to the group criticism of the worsening insecurity in the country. He had earlier in the year clashed with leaders of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) describing the behaviour of the religious body as that of opposition political parties.

Weighing in, the former representative of Kaduna State at the 8th Senate advised the president’s aide to halt throwing insults at the elders as they will later receive his principal into their fold when his tenure elapses.

“Don’t Insult Northern Elders because of their criticism of the Government, they are those that will receive and accommodate the President when he is done with power; and are the ones to be with him long after those in the palace today have deserted him for new greener pastures,” Mr Sani advised through his Facebook timeline, Sunday evening.
