Adolphus Wabara, a former Senate President, has emerged the chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Mr Wabara replaces Walid Jibrin who stepped down from the position on Thursday during the party’s ongoing National Executive Committee meeting in Abuja where the latter announced his resignation.
Mr Jibrin said he stepped down to address the issue of lopsidedness in the party where the Northern region produced the BoT chairman, national chairman and presidential candidate.
The development comes amid calls for the resignation of Iyorchia Ayu, the national chairman of the opposition party led by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.
