Uzodinma’s residence set ablaze

Unknown gunmen have reportedly set ablaze the residence of Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State.

The attack is said to have occurred early Saturday morning at his Omuma hometown of Orlu East Local Government Area of the state.

The attack comes days after the armed men set ablaze the state command headquarters of the police and a correctional facility near the government house, releasing thousands of detainees and inmates.

UPDATE:

The commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, has confirmed the incident saying two security personnel lost their lives in the attack.

“About two security men on duty at the governor’s house were killed. NSCDC personnel was among the security men who lost their lives during the attack,” Mr Emelumba said in a statement Saturday morning.
