It is my turn to become president, wait for yours, Tinubu tells Nigerian youths

Bola Tinubu, frontline presidential aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC), believes next year is his turn of becoming Nigeria’s president.

Speaking at the palace of Lamidi Adeyemi, the Alaafin of Oyo, Mr Tinubu, on Sunday, asked the youths to shelve their political ambitions until he is done with his.

President Muhammadu Buhari gave similar advise prior to the 2019 general election after signing the #NotTooYoungToRun bill which encourages active participation of youths in politics.

Mr Buhari, in 2018, urged Nigerian youths to wait until 2023 before aspiring for the exalted position he is now eager to vacate.

Repeating similar advise, the ruling party’s presidential hopeful, who says he is out to get dirty in order to realize his life-long political ambition, urged the youths to wait for their turn.

“You won’t allow the elderly ones to pass and you haven’t become president. What if you become president, will you chase us out of town?” he queried. “You will grow old and become president. But I will become the president first.”
