Aminu Tambuwal, the governor of Sokoto State, has emerged the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors’ forum.
The emergence of Mr Tambuwal was solely on appointment during the party’s 88th National Executive Council (NEC) held at the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata plaza, Abuja.
The outgoing chairman of the forum, Seriake Dickson, whose tenure is expected to wind down February 3 was absent at the meeting.
Mr Dickson is the outgoing governor of Bayelsa State.
Accepting the responsibility, Tambuwal in a statement by his special adviser, Mohammad Bello, pledged to run an inclusive administration and to move the party forward.
