Senator Shehu Sani.

Shehu Sani, former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has appealed to Reno Omokri, former presidential aide, to suspend ongoing protest in London and allow President Muhammadu Buhari who is in the foreign country to rest.

Mr Omokri and his allies have been protesting since last week when the Nigerian leader arrived London for medical check-up and to observe a short rest.

The protesters are asking the president to return home and fix dilapidated medical facilities across the country as well as resolve rising insecurity bedeviling the nation.

They have consistently blocked the gate of the Nigerian house in London, maintaining that the protest will only stop if the president leaves. An attempt to get them arrested failed as the police allowed them to continue demonstrating on realizing that they were peaceful.

Venting his displeasure, Governor Bello Metawalle, described the peaceful protest as uncivilized, saying it was not the best approach to express grievances.

For the former Kaduna lawmaker, the president should be allowed to observe the rest he came to have in the foreign land.

He pleaded with the protesters to suspend and resume demonstrations next week which is the second week of April the president is expected back to the country.

“Mallam Musa @renoomokri, leave the Gate so that Baba can rest, you can resume duty next week,” Mr Sani tweeted on Friday.
