The State Security Service (SSS) has released Salihu Tanko-Yakasai, former aide of Kano State governor, Umar Ganduje.
Mr Tanko-Yakasai was arrested at the weekend after asking the president to resign from office having failed to tackle worsening insecurity.
While in detention, Mr Ganduje fired his media adviser, saying he ought not be part of a government he doesn’t believe in.
On Monday evening, Daily Nigerian, reported his release, citing family source.
“My brother has just been released by DSS. We are now driving home,” the news outlet quoted Tanko-Yakasai’s elder brother, Umar, as saying.
The conditions of his release is not immediately known as at press time.
