Sit-at-home Order: South-East states comply

Residents across the five states of the South-East geo-political zone complied with the sit-at-home order of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB).

Led by Nnamdi Kanu, the secessionist group shifted the annual exercise from its usual May 30th to May 31st, to allow church goers attend church services.

The group, seeking the actualization of the defunct Biafra Republic, says the day is set aside to honour those who fought on the side of the former eastern region which consist of present day South-East and South-South geo-political zones.

Multimedia reports on social media indicate at least ninety percent compliance when TODAY POLITICS reviewed the development in Abia, Imo, Anambra, Enugu and Ebonyi.

In major cities in the Igbo predominantly area, schools, banks, markets remained shut while a handful of persons were seen roaming around some busy roads that were deserted Monday morning.
